Hughes Machinery Technical Training Center

Hughes Machinery has been providing sales and service for many of industry’s steam and energy systems since 1924. As part of our commitment to customer training and shared knowledge, our Steam Training Center is dedicated to providing state of the art instruction and practical know-how. Over the years, the manufacturers we represent have helped us develop one of the most outstanding seminar programs in the country. Through classroom discussion, theoretical application, live demonstrations and hands on experience, our participants learn real world system operation, design, maintenance and problem solving. The goal is improved operating and cost efficiency. We offer “Creative Solutions for Peak Performance.”

Our Training Center houses classroom facilities that simulate actual field conditions with fully instrumented, “see-through” glass systems. Space is limited so plan now to attend.

Hot Water Boiler Seminar:
Increase your knowledge on heating hot water systems at our water-boiler training facility. This class is designed to educate engineers and design build contractors on both the pitfalls and best practices in the industry today.

Technical Steam Training (Steam Basics, Advanced Steam):

Join us and compare notes with industry peers, while fulfilling 6.5 professional development hours.

Steam Basics: 
In this entry-level steam class, we explain the everyday uses and benefits of steam. We’ll also cover the following areas:

  • Types of Traps
  • Sizing and System Layout
  • Testing and Auditing 

Advanced Steam: 
If you are already knowledgeable in steam basics, our advanced class will help expand your knowledge in the following areas:

  • Control Valves and PRVs

  • Condensate Handling
  • Steam Piping Best Practices

Control Valve Sizing & Selection:
Proper selection of a final control element has a direct impact on improving process accuracy. Learn proven methods to minimize process variability, increase product quality, improve plant reliability, safety, and reduce operational costs through this non-commercial training.
